Christmas dinner and table setting almost ready: I made Vegetable tart, Spinach lasagne, Parmesan chicken and Fruit cake. |

This month for the photographic game " La vuelta al mundo*", Jackie challenged us to show the world how we celebrate Christmas in our home, our city, our country, within our families. This game is always a great excuse to be alive, to go out and explore our cities. If you don't know what I am talking about, here is the link to Casi en Serio, Jackie's blog that is like an overdose on joy and loveliness. Anyone can join this game: every month a new photographic challenge is prompted, if you are interested the instructions are here. To be honest I hadn't participated in the last few months, sometimes the theme seemed too hard and intimidating for me (Portraits), or they were focused on photography of interiors (I don't have a very good control of light yet, and I hate photos with flash). July and August hosted my favorite themes (Treasure Hunt and Travel Journal), but I did not even post the only 2 treasures I found and we didn't go anywhere until the end of August. When the theme was "The sidewalk" I only managed to take one half decent pic.
Anywhow, without further ado, here is the link to my set in Flickr on Christmas. Some of the pics have already been shown in the blog, so in this post I am only adding the truly new pics, as well as a short explanation of what was going own. Be sure to check out the international chain of photos at the end of this post.
Playing scrabble and eating turrón de almendras (nougat) is a favorite family tradition. |
Starting the holiday season with a light festival, St. Lucy's candlelight in Gouda. |
Holidays are about compromise and blending traditions, our little tree is the proof of it. |
This one's a favorite, aren't these tiny ornaments just a little bit too cute? |
Board games are a tradition at our house as well.Looks like you had a lovely time xox
ReplyDeleteIt was indeed relaxing (though I did get tired of so much cooking, not in a bad way, just physically tired).
DeleteI love spending time with friends and family. Board games are the best, our next investment will be a Rummikub. It never goes on sale, for some reason.
I have the same tree except it is green, I use it as an advent calender and add one ornament per day and the star on Christmas day. It is a tradition I can't wait to share with my children.
ReplyDeleteOh that's a great idea, to use it as an advent calendar. I am totally going to steal it from you for next year.
DeleteI love those ornaments! They are so adorable and look almost vintage.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I was immediately smitten, and since they are so tiny I knew I'd found the perfect compromise. At least for now...
DeleteLove the pictures. Are you a photographer, too? So impressed :)
ReplyDeleteThanks I feel so flattered now. But no, I am not a photographer, far from it, I just like playing with the camera, I admire photography and I would like to learn, so I experiment. It also helps that we just gave ourselves a camera for Christmas and the results are amazing: the images are sharper, the colors brighter and we can actually focus manually. So much to learn.
DeletePreciosas! Felicidades por tu participación.
ReplyDeleteBesitos!
Gracias, !
