Joy in the little things

In case you missed it, today I was honored to be a guest post at A practical wedding, writing about my journey these last 3 and a half years: life changes, unemployment, subfertility, and slowly, learning to find the joy in the little things. Here it is...

      Abrazos!

    1. Thank you Ashleigh :) It means a lot.

Sometimes staying positive is also hard, but I try to make a point of it. I was sad (or more like angry at the universe) for quite a while, I wanted to *know*, I wanted meaning, a reason, and I felt punished. Then I realised that I would never understand and just decided to make the most of it. It's like I had one of those moments (though it was not a moment, it was more like a gradual change) when you see that life really is happening now... and that is up to us to decide how we react, how we feel (to a certain extent).

  4. Wow. I love what you wrote. I wish I could write like you. My heart went out to you on the career difficulties. Although I'm nowhere near in the same position as you, I sometimes feel like I went to school for so long for my doctorate, and I can't find the right job that isn't disenchanting or disheartening in some way.

But your post was so....full-circle. I can see what you've gone through and where you are now and how you seem to positive and mindful in the moment right now. So impressed.

    1. Thanks. It is not always easy, I mean, I still have my moments. But I do try to make an effort to stay positive, to constantly be aware of our blessings, and not to wallow or let negative thoughts overwhelm me (because that would be like jumping in a dark hole... and I feel I could spiral down quite easily). So I really fight to shut those voices down. I invented this story where I tell myself that our "path" is different than the norm... but that does not mean we will not get there. We'll see.

      Thanks for being there.
