This was, if I remember well, near King's Cross underground. |
It totally slipped my mind that I still have some posts on London, Istanbul and Paris.I hope you don't mind if every now and then I write about those places, some are cafés, some are museums, some are random finds. In that spirit, I thought I would show you just a few snippets of London's street art. The last two remind me of Leonora Carrington's surreal creatures. Are you fascinated by street art? Do you get excited when you see a pretty graffitti?
Nice! I do appreciate interesting street art!
ReplyDeleteIt can be so beautiful. The fact that it is ephemerous adds to its charm.
DeleteSo wonderful, and one of the things I miss about living in a real city. It's nice to turn a corner and suddenly be presented with art on the wall instead of someone just scrawling their name in spray paint.
ReplyDeleteWhich reminds me - did you hear of the building that removed and auctioned its Banksy graffiti (I think this was also in London). Graffiti art definitely creates an interesting conversation piece.
I did not hear of that particular building, but I am a big fan of Banksy and I knew that some of his pieces have been sold or exposed in galleries. I still want to get my hands on his biography (though it's unathourized).
DeleteI love street art. Whenever we travel, D and I try to take photos of interesting murals/graffiti that we find all over city streets. We kind of had this project going where he would take a photo of me in front of street art in every city we visit, but it sort of fizzled (we do have some photos like that though). Maybe it's because I don't like have photos of me taken, haha.
ReplyDeleteThat is a super nice project ! You should put all those photos together, maybe in a wall, or in an album?
DeleteIt is also interesting to see how street art is different between cities. It really tells you something of each place.
