Walking around Amsterdam (and street art in Spuistraat)

Yesterday, as the weather was rather nice, we went to Amsterdam for one of our walks. We started the day having a late 2nd breakfast at a really baby-friendly café (we need more of those, but that's a whole other post).

After the kid had played to her heart's content (and was ready for her nap) we walked towards museum square, then turned at Weteringschans, passed Leidseplein and continued to  the Negen Straatjes and then Spuistraat (stopping for an Éclaire, which alas, was not as good as we hoped it would be).

Winter, crisp, sunny days are amongst mys favorite thing. You can smell the spring coming on every corner, the days are already so long it is 19:30 before you know it and there are flowers everywhere.

We saw the most colorful street-art and ended the day with an early dinner snack at the café of Hotel Die Port van Cleve where Heineken opened his first Heineken brewery, before driving home.

How was your weekend?

    1. Cuando vengas avisanos , porque les mostraremos la ciudad. Es un país lindo, muchos lugares pintorescos. Y si, Amsterdam esta llena de personas particulares, hay un poco de todo, pero siempre mucho que hacer.

  2. That painted street looks so nice! Man, there's so much I didn't get to see when I was there. I definitely have to go back... As for the Negen Straatjes, it looks familiar, maybe I walked through there, I'm not sure. I do know I wanted to go there, but I walked through so many side streets!

    1. You have to come again. You probably walked along the 9 straatjes, it is not far from the center. The painted street is so happy :)

  3. Ahhh Amsterdam! love the giant flamingo. And the colours! Sunny days are lovely. My weekend was exciting, I finally got my driver's licence :) and it snowed non stop but as long as it stays in the -2 or -3 C it can be kind of nice.

    1. Yes, definitely, I am really a big fan of street-art, and how it changes and what it represents between cities / countries. It really is like having a conversation with the locals and what is happening at a certain moment. And I love the ephemerous nature of it.. how it changes all the time.
